Candice Willmore
Costume Director

Candice is one of the original founders and visionaries behind PURE. Since the beginning Candice has been given the task of making every costume fit perfectly for every prince and princess that passes through the doors of PURE. Each year Candice sizes up close to 1000 costumes for 500+ PURE students and makes them all look brilliant on stage. Candice’s passion and sensitivity with people in general is exceptional. With 10 years of experience in the dental assisting field and 12 years of experience as the human resource manager for WR Detasseling Ltd, Candice has a unique ability to deal with people. Candice is a busy mother taking wonderful care of her two girls as well has her husband Kent.

Kent Willmore
Director

Kent is one of the original founders and visionaries behind PURE Academy. Since the beginning Kent has been tasked with staging, logistics as well as dealing with every other issue under the sun – from toilets to tutus! Kent’s 20+ year background in education has helped to set the foundation of standards and expectations for PURE academy staff and students. Kent’s vision has always been to establish PURE as a safe place for children to grow, learn and become empowered using the Arts as the medium. Kent is thrilled to be part of PURE Academy and is proud to be the father of two wonderful PURE graduates..

Margaret is one of the original founders and visionaries behind PURE. Margaret’s organizational skills and warm sensitivity to children is well developed since she herself is a busy mother of four children. She is honoured to be part of the ‘PURE family’ and is proud of the fact that PURE is committed to offer the very best to their students & families.

Melissa Colman

Dance instructor & Competitive Coach

Melissa has been a competitive and performance company choreographer/ teacher since 2007. She has received various awards for her choreography and Competitive pieces and has enjoyed traveling across North America, taking classes from professionals in the industry. Melissa has danced and choreographed for several local artists and showcases around Windsor and the Essex County region. Melissa is well versed in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop dance forms and uses her University Honours degree in Movement Science to technically enhance the application of these subjects. Melissa's ultimate goal to is to make PURE a place that feels like home for all of its dance families

Corey Mariuz
Artistic Director,
Dance Instructor & Competitive Coach

Corey has been committed to the dance world for over 20 years and has performed and taught dance all over the world in cities like Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Vancouver, Toronto, & Hong Kong! He has trained at Edge Performing Arts Centre, Broadway Dance Centre and Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet School Professional Division to name a few. After graduating from Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts Corey worked professionally with Stiletto Entertainment, Holland America Cruise Lines, and also as an Assistant Choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance Canada. He completed his B.A Honours [Criminiology & Philosophy], Women's Studies Minor, University of Windsor and also has his M.A [Sociology], Thesis: Negotiating Multiple Masculinities within Dance. In addition to dancing he has done some professional film work with Adventureville Productions playing the role of Levi Jr. in The Prey. Corey also has several group fitness certifications and has worked at Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts in the dance department. He has extensive musical theatre background as a choreographer and performer. Some of his favourite shows to work on include Cats, Hairspray and Legally Blonde. Most recently, Corey travelled to China to implement PURE's very own dance syllabus; Bloom & Grow (early years syllabus). Corey is grateful to be surrounded at PURE by such amazing friends and family including his wife Laura who works administration at our Lakeshore location.
